hey this is Jake of LCA, and dude, thats so awesome you're willing ot give LCA [leaving catalina avenue] an ear, tell that to the record companies lol anyway, that's cool that you're supporting our band, we're just trying to get our name out you know?? so here's a little back up info on us, k so we haven't really released anything yet, some circumstances are making that hard, but here are the facts, Leaving Catalina Ave. is a band comprised of 5 people, myself, and 4 of my best friends. we're all originally from the bay area, [california] and we've all had our share of tough times in all aspects of life. everyone in the band writes their own songs, and i mostly write the music to the songs, but we all have written music before. we started off just playing songs by some of our favorite bands [some of mine include new found glory, fuel, weezer, green day, american Hi-Fi, train, system of a down, and stuff like that.] i do realize that a lot of those bands sound very different, but that's why i like them, because they are all different from each other and from the norm. which is kind of the sound that LCA is going for, but all in all, we just want to play music that we feel is original, and really gets our message across, whatever it is, lol anyway, the name of our band, Leaving Catalina Avenue, is about how Catalina Avenue was our sanct. it's where we all did a lot of our growing up, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too, earlier this year tho, a lot of stuff happened, resulting in us all being seperated from eachother, and from Catalina Avenue [if you don't know by now, it's the street we all used to live on!with the exception of britt] when we were trying to come up with a band name, we realized how far apart we all were, and remembered Catalina Ave. and how it felt there, and how it felt leaving there, and decided that Leaving Catalina Ave. would be the perfect name, if you notice, on the album cover i made, it's supposed to be Catalina Avenue, in a car's rearview mirror [lol yah i know, hard to tell] so yah it's all kind of symbollic i guess you could say. anyway each member of the band has their own xanga site, so i'm not gonna bother doing a bio on everyone, lol here are our names and sites, check us out!
